On 3.12.2011 offenders entered a house in the Longmeade Gardens area of Wilmslow via an insecure front door. After making a tidy search of the lounge and kitchen whilst the occupants were upstairs, the thieves stole keys, mobiles,wallet, purse and a vehicle from the driveway. The vehicle has since been recovered

Police are urging the public to be vigilant following a suspicious
incident in Styal woods in Wilmslow on Thursday 29th December 2011
some time between 2pm and 2.30pm.
A woman was out walking her dog in the woods when she became aware of
a man walking behind her. She stopped to let him past and the man made
a comment to her. As he drew level with her he made a further comment
insinuating that he could harm her.
The woods were busy at the time so the woman felt safe, but the nature
of his comments concerned her enough to phone police later that
evening.

During the month of December, the Wilmslow area suffered 7 car key
burglaries, whereby offenders entered houses to steal car keys and
thus steal vehicles from the driveway.

101 the new police non-emergency number launches in Cheshire. |
Cheshire Police, together with Merseyside Police and Greater Manchester Police, switches over to using the new national non-emergency telephone number − 101.
The introduction of 101 is part of a national programme to make it easier for members of the public to contact police in a non-emergency, where an immediate police response is not required. From 23.11.2011, 101 will replace the force’s current non-emergency number 0845 458 0000. |

STYAL: On 3.10.2011 an attempt was made to enter a house in the Manor Road area of Styal. The offender used bodily force on a door handle but failed to gain entry
LACEY GREEN: On 4.10.2011 an offender was disturbed in the rear grounds of a property located in the Macclesfield Road area of Wilmslow. The male was arrested by police. It is thought that he intended to break into a nearby property.
On 16.10.2011 vehicle was stolen from the Barlow Road area of Wilmslow .

Cheshire East Council is warning residents to be aware of Council Tax scams believed to be circulating the Borough.
The authority has received calls from worried people reporting they have been contacted by someone claiming to work for ‘the Council Tax section’.

I have been contacted by a couple of coordinators today who have received or know people who have recently received calls from people purporting to be from Microsoft. These callers may use a number of scripts but in general appear to suggest that there is some kind of fault with your computer - possibly that it is running slow or that they have had a report that there is a virus

Styal:
An attempted burglary occurred on 1.5.2011 at a property in the Northward Road area of Wilmslow. Offenders came through an insecure side gate into the rear garden they then removed a garden spade from an insecure garden shed and then tried to use this to smash a double glazed rear patio door but were unsuccessful.
