This briefing covers the period of December 2011
PART TOWN CENTRE:
On 3.12.2011 offenders entered a house in the Longmeade Gardens area of Wilmslow via an insecure front door. After making a tidy search of the lounge and kitchen whilst the occupants were upstairs, the thieves stole keys, mobiles,wallet, purse and a vehicle from the driveway. The vehicle has since been recovered
in the Stockport area. and the property stolen from the house has also been found in the possession of three individuals in the Stockport area who are helping police with their enquiries
On the same evening a hook and cane burglary occurred in the Longmeade Gardens area, whereby house and car keys were stolen from the hallway. The stolen vehicle has also been found in the Stockport area on false plates.
Offenders tried to gain entry to a house in the Lindfield Estate North area but were unsuccessful
STYAL:
Offenders entered an insecure property in the Park Road area of Wilmslow and stole a small amount of alcohol and chocolate. The incident occurred on the 23.12.2011
HANDFORTH/ COLSHAW
On 4.12.2011 , during the dark hours, offenders gained entry to the rear of a detached house in the Grangeway area of Handforth vis an insecure rear downstairs window. Once inside they stole a wallet and keys and two pushbikes were taken from the integral garage.
On 21.12.2011 offenders entered a property in the Ullswater Road area of Handforth via an insecure UPVC door. They entered the hall and removed keys from a key holder which enabled them to steal a BMW from the driveway
DEAN ROW/ COLSHAW:
On 14.12.2011 offenders entered a house via an unlocked conservatory door in the Queensbury Close area of Wilmslow and stole property from within.
A ground floor living room rear window was forced on a house in the Wolverton Drive area of Wilmslow on 15.12.2011 in order to gain entry to the property. An untidy search was made but nothing seemed to have been stolen.
An untidy search was made of every room at a house in the Turnberry Drive area of Wilmslow before property was taken from within.
ALDERLEY EDGE :
On 1.12.2011 an aggravated burglary occurred at a house in the Underwood Road area of Alderley Edge. Cash, mobile phones and jewellery were taken from the property.`
THEFT FROM VEHICLE INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS :
Dean Drive, Wilmslow
Trafford Road, Alderley Edge
Adlington Road, Wilmslow
Station Road, Handforth,
Spath Lane, Handforth
Manchester Road, Wilmslow
VEHICLES HAVE BEEN STOLEN FROM THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
Wallingford Road, Handforth
Chapel Lane Wilmslow
Altrincham Road, Wilmslow
Hough Lane Alderley Edge
Hough Lane, Wilmslow
Thorngrove Road, Wilmslow.
As mentioned in my previous email there has been a rise in burglaries in the Wilmslow/Alderley Edge areas during the month of January. Please keep alert , step up on your house security and report any suspicious incidents or people to the police by dialling 101.
We need your help to catch these criminals.!!
The local police have set up an operation to try and combat this crime. They are working extra patrols and are using the ANPR ( Automatic Numberplate Recognition )Vehicle to try and identify any suspicious vehicles travelling into the Wilmslow area.
Cheshire Police are also working closely with neighbouring police forces to combat this problem
