Police are asking members of the public to be vigilant after boulders were thrown off a bridge into |
Police are currently investigating two incidents on the A34 Congleton Road in Alderley Edge, the first of which happened on Saturday 18 February 2012 shortly before midnight.
A large boulder was dropped of the bridge onto the road in front of a car and bounced up at it causing extensive damage to the front bumper.
The second incident took place the following evening shortly before 10pm. The boulder went under the car causing damage which made it unsafe to drive.
Sgt Alex McMillan from Wilmslow Neighbourhood Policing Unit said: "Whoever did this clearly didn′t think about the seriousness of their actions, this could easily resulted in a fatality.
"We are asking people to be vigilant whilst we investigate this incident, and if you have seen anyone acting suspiciously on any bridge over the A34 bypass please contact Cheshire Police on 101."
