Welcome to Pownall Park Residents' Association
Pownall Park Residents' Association was formed in 2004 to promote the environment and interests of the residents of the Pownall Park area of Wilmslow, Cheshire.
Pownall Park lies to the west of Wilmslow Town Centre, north of the A538 Wilmslow-M56 road, and south of The Carrs, a well used public recreational park which is in the valley of the River Bollin.
The area is a sought after residential area with mainly detached houses built from the 1930's onwards. The original 1930's development laid down strict rules on density and the general environment, which have largely been maintained even in the more recently developed parts of the area. It benefits from good access to Manchester and London via Wilmslow Railway Station and is convenient for Manchester Airport.
The area includes two schools; Gorsey Bank, a state primary school with an excellent reputation, and Pownall Hall School, a co-educational, preparatory school for 2 - 11 year olds. Pownall Hall School is housed in Pownall Hall, a listed building whose lands originally encompassed all of the land in Pownall Park and The Carrs.
