We are currently having a large number of reports that mobile
phones are being stolen from members of the public whilst in the Town
Centre. THIS CRIME IS HAPPENING IN SHOPS/CAFES/BARS.
The offenders are described as Eastern European nationals

phones are being stolen from members of the public whilst in the Town
Centre. THIS CRIME IS HAPPENING IN SHOPS/CAFES/BARS.
The offenders are described as Eastern European nationals
who are
entering premises asking members of the public for directions.
The offenders will place a map or leaflets they are carrying on top of
the victims phone and whilst distracting them with questions will take
the mobile from under the map/leaflet before quickly making their
excuses and leaving in a waiting car.
Descriptions given to the police are that the male offenders are
eastern european, smartly dressed and aged between 30/50 years. The
females will often be wearing headscarves, long skirts and distinctive
jewellery. Also aged between 30/50years.
If you suspect this happening whilst in the town centre please dial
999 immediately. We need the type of vehicle they are driving , colour
and registration number

Macclesfield Road, Alderley edge
Bourne Street, Wilmslow

Priory Road, Wilmslow
Davenport Avenue, Wilmslow

LACEY GREEN :
On 23.3.2012 offenders entered a rear garden via an insecure garden
On 23.3.2012 offenders entered a rear garden via an insecure garden
gate. They then approached a secure garden shed and attempted to pick
the lock with a length of wire. They were unsuccessful and made their
escape. The incident occurred in the Hollybank Road area of Wilmslow
TOWN CENTRE :
On 2.3.2012 thieves forced entry through a front door during the day
at a house in the Orchard Close area of Wilmslow. Fortunately the
alarm activated and the offenders ran off.
Offenders entered a house in the Glenside Drive area of Wilmslow via
an insecure garage door. They stole a pressure washer and socket set
before making their escape.
On 3.3.2012 offenders entered a house in the Bourne Street area of
Wilmslow via an insecure front door and stole an Ipad from the kitchen
On 30.3.2012 during the night time period thieves entered a house in
the Chatsworth Road area via an insecure front door and stole 3 Ipads
from a bookcase.
DEAN ROW/ COLSHAW :
Early morning on 6.3.2012 thieves smashed a window to the utitlity
room at a house in the Queensbury Close area . They gained entry and
after a search stole property and car keys. They then made their
escape using the keys to steal a Volkswagon Golf from the driveway
Electrical items and jewellery were stolen from a house in the
Hazelwood Road area of Wilmslow on 8.3.2012. They entered the garage
via an insecure door and then got into the house via an insecure
internal door.
On 23.3.2012 thieves approached a house in the Westbourne Drive area
from the rear of the property. The house was well lit but it was
obvious that there was no one at home. They forced the rear patio
doors to gain entry causing the alarm to activate and then once inside
ripped the alarm box from the wall. They then stole jewellery before
making their escape
STYAL:
Offenders approached a property situated in the Park Road area of
Wilmslow via a rear back garden which backs on to a field. They tried
to force a pair of rear wooden doors using a screwdriver but were
unsuccessful and made their escape
On 5.3.2012 offenders entered a large greenhouse in the Styal Road area
of Wilmslow by smashing a single pane of glass. Once inside they then
removed the sealant around an internal window which gave them access
to a storage area. Numerous pieces of power plant equipment were
stolen. It is thought that they thieves took the equipment through the
smashed window and then wheeled them on a trolley across the field to
a waiting car parked in a layby.
Offenders gained entry to a house in the Davehall Avenue area of
Wilmslow via an insecure patio door. They scaled a 5ft fence to gain
entry to the garden. They took electrical items from within.
HANDFORTH :
Thieves entered a house in the Finsbury Way area of Handforth on
14.3.2012 via an insecure front ground floor window. The stole a
laptop and car keys to a Ford KUGA. They then drove off in the Ford to
make their escape
ALDERLEY EDGE :
A gas metre was stolen from the garage of a house under rennovation in
the Beechfield Road area of Alderley Edge.
A handbag was stolen from a house in the London Road area of Alderley
when thieves walked into the house and took it.
