REMEMBER:
1. Don't leave anything on display in your car even an old coat on the back seat is a temptation for someone. Thieves steal first and think about the value later.
2. Always lock your vehicle even if it is parked on your driveway . If possible park your vehicles in a locked garage overnight to deter thieves. If you do not have a garage always try to park your vehicle in a well lit open space.
3. Fit locking wheel nuts as wheels are often a target for thieves. Wheel nuts are not expensive and are easy to fit.
4. An alarm can help to keep your car secure even though most vehicles have factory fitted alarms
5. Use your electronic immobiliser. All new cars sold in the UK since October 1998 are fitted with electronic immobilisers
6. At home, always keep your car keys in a safe place which is out of sight and away from windows and doors. Never use hanging key racks or leave keys on the hall table.
